North Coast Energy Systems recently completed a State Park Assessment Project for the Pennsylvania DCNR. The Pennsylvania DCNR intends to erect six small wind turbines at various parks throughout the State during the Summer and Fall of 2005. The turbines will be similar to the one at Presque Isle State Park and would be incorporated into the Park's educational programs.
In order to determine the best sites, thorough site-assessments were conducted to determine wind resource, educational potential, cost-effectiveness, environmental impact, and other issues. NCES has had the pleasure of assessing the parks and helping the Pennsylvania DCNR make informed decisions about proper siting and installation.
Hopefully, we will have updates about these projects by the end of the year - keep checking back with us!
